The politicos have lost the plot

Anyone else find it completely laughable that practically the entire political media universe is actually trying to say that the presidential debates are unnecessary for the 2020 campaign, and that Vice President Biden has no need to participate?
It’s been floated and joked about for months, with former Virginia Governor and Clinton Era campaigner Terry McAuliffe starting the ball rolling on a campaign call as the Biden camp tried to navigate campaigning during a pandemic.
It’s no surprise that Biden’s approval numbers are better when he isn’t seen in public. Can’t imagine that picking fights with blue collar workers, pandering to progressives and outright lying about your record on a regular basis endears you to a good portion of the voters, but I could be mistaken.
While the media thinks that skipping debates is a moral high ground against the evil boorishness of Trump’s America, it’s a moved destined to blow up in their faces. Rather than de-legitimize Trump as a political actor, skipping debates will be seen as further weakness after Biden’s performances during the primary debates.
Highlights have included financial policy via government bond certificates and hemorrhaging from his eye.
There’s a reason the left doesn’t want the split screen of Trump versus Biden. Optics matter, and Biden rarely speaks these days without some kind of confusion or misstatement.
I worry about Vice President Biden’s cognition. He has shown a good bit of decline in his appearances, even from a year ago. Mental competency is kind of a prerequisite when you want to run a country.
I mean, its not like there’s not problems and plagues cropping up monthly at this point. Our leaders need to be at the top of their game. VP Biden is not, by any quantifiable metric other than the powers that be thought he had the best chance to beat Trump.
Campaigns large and small have been effectively ended with the monumentally bad decision to not debate. Just ask President Carter.
Broadcasting to the public that your favored candidate can not handle 90 minutes against a man who has been described as stupid, foolish and dense doesn’t make him look bad.
Claims of “Trump lies!” fall on deaf ears at this household. Politician lying doesn’t even make the news at eleven anymore. My default for any political speak is spin and outright lies until verifiably proven.
The irony meter pegs when I think of the ever re-appearing narrative about Trump’s problems with the 25th Amendment when the former Vice President isn’t seen in public for more than 5 days in a row.
His fitness, both physically and mentally, is a question in the minds of more than one voter, and that’s before we even get to the support of BLM and the Defund Police movements, or his preferred policy regarding China.
