I don't know about you, but I didn't need to watch last night's prime time congressional "hearing" to know that the Democrats and Liz Cheney don't want you talking, let alone thinking, about anything but "Trump bad."
Not gas prices quickly hurtling towards double digits a gallon.
Not shrinking packaging and higher prices at the grocery store.
Not possible diesel shortages in the Mid-Atlantic.
And most definitely not a real inflation rate closer to 19% than the 8.9% (a statistic totally true and completely dishonest at the same time) that was reported this morning.
Nope, nothing to see here.
Nothing except edited videos and text message threads and career DC types protecting the revenue streams. By video deposition. All to paint a narrative, according to Madame Speaker.
This narrative is more of what we saw in Impeachments I and II, namely Trump is not just bad, but the cause of every wrong in Washington D.C. Ever.
It's telling that these former Trump officials couldn't be bothered to show up in person for a hearing to tell all about an event that they contend is literally threatening to end democracy.
Yes, the walls are really closing in this time. You can be sure of it.
The cost of this latest, better Trump-trap.... $8 million and counting.
Not going to be covered in any hearing on Capitol Hill...the culpability of Speaker Pelosi or DC Mayor Bowser, who had the actual responsibility of protecting Congress and who had ample warning of trouble brewing in the Capitol.
Hell, half of downtown DC was boarded up the week before the Inauguration...in anticipation of celebrations that mirrored 2020's Summer of Love and “mostly peaceful” protests.
Not one question will be raised about why doors and barricades were opened up by officers.
And not one question will be asked about assets and instigators, excuse me, undercover officers and federal informants who were in the crowd.
Our country could have used an actual investigation that covered all aspects of what happened January 6, 2021, and the days and weeks leading up to it.
But instead, we have this circus. What a sad state of affairs.
At least Congressional Democrats finally got their prime time moment. Unfortunately, it's another look backwards, towards the man whose shadow continues to loom largely over Pennsylvania Avenue.
The Left can't stop now though.
Their very nature demands more. Constantly more.
More power, more bureaucracy, more money.
That's what last night was about.
It's the stuff of banana republics and Latin American dictators.
It's the stuff of what comes after a color revolution. Political opponents jailed while Biden gets confused on Kimmel, literally in the form of a Michigan Governor candidate who was arrested this week for a litany of misdemeanors relating to January 6th. 17 months later, and whose arrest warrant includes one of the FBI tied operatives that were part of the Fed lead Whitmer kidnapping plot.
It would be President Trump if they could make any of the 50 things they've tried actually stick.
They’ll just continue to try Americans, both in court and on prime time in his stead.
But at the end of the day we are here because Republicans (with few exceptions) talked for four years instead of dealing with riots, protests, fire bombs and more.
They allowed a stolen election to be certified. They participated, covered up and funded a number of coups and plots against the office of the President of the United States - never mind who was sitting in the office. They did nothing when rioters tried to storm the White House and burnt St. James Church and Lafayette Park.
The Democrats are emboldened by Republican acquiescence and inaction.
And it won't change as long as McCarthy and McConnell serve the interests of the likes of Ken Griffith and Paul Singer rather than the American people.
In banana republics, even the decline is profitable if you know the right people.
On to the next show trial!
Banana Republics and show trials
This is absolutely brilliant, my friend! This needs to be in every major publication, but maybe I'm prejudiced, as much of this corresponds with my thoughts. What aggravates me is the complete absence of evidence showing there were paid actors in the crowd, for example the Jon Berry video confession from j6. Then there's video evidence of BLM/Antifa inciters like Jake Sullivan, who literally called for firebombing the Halls of Congress and nothing happened to him. Where are the discussions of this type evidence in the "Show Trial"? BTW, I have those videos and they are, indeed, damning. Now that there's actual proof from Mr. Solomon at Just the News that Nancy Pelosi turned down USARNG support and Chuck Schumer hid lower FBI reports from the Capital Police that there would be riots the next day, it definitely now looks like a Democrat and FBI Seventh Floor/DOJ Operation to get Trump and his Supporters. Which is, of course, why Nancy Pelosi had to for the first time in Congressional history, deny the minority whip the right to select his own committee members and choose two Trump-hating RINOs. This is effectively how she's insulated herself from any organized scrutiny. And, with an Attorney General who's completely weaponized by the Democrats against their opponents, she has nothing to worry about. These are the most frustrating times to live in the U.S. if you are interested in the rule of law and our Constitution, love the rights we share, and love this constitutional republic we call America.
Very good article.
Along with all of the other unexplained oddities that happened that day, I remember the DNC media talking about how ‘terrified’ & vulnerable that the democrats all felt that day.
Yup. And while they were all hunkered down in broom closets and vacant offices, Nasty Pelosi was calling down to the kitchen, to hasten the cafeteria’s reopening, because her democrats “were hungry”. (That was just moments after the Babbitt shooting.)
I reckon that since they were all resigned to dying that day at the hands of a throng of ‘hillbilly, deplorables; they figured that it might just as well happen in the Capitol Cafeteria, and on a full stomach.
